About Me
Discussing intimate sexual or relationship issues with a new therapist can feel overwhelming, so here’s a little about me to help make that first step a bit easier.
I’m Candice, a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. I work with people to untangle the tricky feelings that often come up around sex, relationships, and self-worth. Maybe sex feels like a chore these days, maybe you’re struggling to connect with your partner, or perhaps you’re carrying old shame that’s difficult to shake.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and down to earth. Therapy isn’t about having the “right” answers or saying things perfectly - it’s about having a space where you can be honest without fear of judgement. We'll work together to make sese of what's happening, while gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
I feel incredibly privileged to do this work. There aren’t many places where people can talk openly about sex, intimacy, desire, conflict or shame without worrying about being judged. Being trusted with those conversations is something I never take for granted.
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of different therapeutic approaches rather than working from just one model. No two people or relationships are the same, so I adapt therapy to suit you. Sometimes we’ll explore how past experiences shape what’s happening today; other times we’ll focus on practical ways to communicate differently or navigate challenges together. When working with couples, I also use Developmental Psychotherapy, which helps strengthen emotional connection and create new ways of relating to one another.
As a GSRD-informed therapist, I welcome clients of all gender identities, sexual orientations, erotic preferences, and relationship styles. My background in humanitarian work and supporting survivors of sexual abuse has also shaped how I work, helping me offer therapy that's inclusive, culturally sensitive, and grounded in safety and trust.
Above all, I see therapy as something we do together. There isn't a set formula, just a collaborative space to explore whatever feels important to you, at a pace that feels right.
If any of this resonates, feel free to get in touch at contact@candicewesttherapy.co.uk. No pressure - just a chance to see if we might be a good fit.
